Santa Barbara Museum of Art

The Santa Barbara Museum of Art houses an impressive collection of Asian, European and American art, ancient Roman sculptures, antiques, and photographs, spanning a total of 4000 years.The museum is located on State Street in downtown Santa Barbara, about a mile north of Stearn's Wharf. It was founded in 1941 and currently ranks among the top ten regional art museums in the country.
The museum contains a permanent collection including works by Picasso, Monet, Chagall, Eakins, and O'Keefe.
Opened in 1998, the Peck Wing is the latest addition to the museum. The museum now has three galleries as well as the Constance and George Fearing Library, which contains reference books, periodicals, and exhibition catalogs.
