Matterhorn Bobsleds

Originally born in 1959, the Matterhorn is a favorite among teen and adult park goers seeking thrills and adventure. Located in Fantasyland, it is listed as one of Disneyland’s big thrill rides. There are many twists and turns that plummet the riders down the Matterhorn Mountain towards the splashdown at the end of the run.
Climbing into the toboggan, which takes riders to the summit of the snow-covered mountain before it begins its screaming race to the bottom. The twists and turns of the ride make it a fantasy experience of riding a racing toboggan down the mountain where it ends in a splash into an Alpine pond at the bottom of the mountain.
There are two different rides on this attraction, one being in wheeled-cars from the original version of the ride and this Matterhorn Bobsleds. Due to its speed and the nature of the ride it is not recommended for people with high blood pressure or problems with their back or neck. It is also not advised for mothers-to-be or those that suffer from motion sickness or have conditions that may be aggravated by this ride to participate.
The attraction also providers riders with a really quick view of areas surrounding the ride as it shows them a view from the top of the mountain just before beginning its plummet to the bottom. The excitement begins to build from the time the riders enter the bobsled at the Swiss-style chalet at the bottom and continues until splash down in the pool.
