Pirates of the Caribbean

Put on your headband and unsheathe the sword while hunting for Captain Jack and head into the treacherous waters of the Caribbean! Meet the dangerous captain face-to-face while riders are watching out for Barbossa hot on Captain Jack’s Trail! Hoist the anchor and take off from a seaport set on fire by the Barbossa, while watching the encounter unfold before your eyes.
This attraction was one of last under the guidance of Walt Disney and its popularity inspired the Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise. From the films, enhancements to the attraction include the audio-animatronics figures of Captain Jack Sparrow and his wily adversary Barbossa.
There have been many new special effects created since the release of the movies and the Disney story-telling adds to the local adventure witnessed by the riders. The ride is located in New Orleans Square and some of the special effects may prove frightening to young children. This attraction involves climbing in and out of a boat, but is made handicap accessible with help from the ride’s attendants.
Those who are familiar with the movie series and the antics of Barbossa and Jack Sparrow will appreciate the attraction more, just as the early riders of the Pirate of the Caribbean attraction were somewhat familiar with the concept prior to the release of the first movie. Movie-goers are now more inclined to visit this attraction as they can join in the hunt. The animatronics helps bring the main characters to life, making the enhanced version of the ride more attractive to everyone, and not only those familiar with the movie.
