Star Tours

Due to the proximity of Disneyland to Hollywood many visitors may be of the mistaken impression that Disneyland’s Star Tour will take them by homes of the rich and famous. In a few years and many millions of miles later, perhaps, but for the present they will have to be happy visiting distant planets and unexplored areas of space.
Thanks to George Lucas and Disney Imagineers, the leisurely trip to the lovely Endor Moon suddenly goes all wrong. The intergalactic travel quickly turns into a heart-pounding experience as you fly through asteroid fields inside ice caverns. The craft will accelerate to light speed as the crew rushes to destroy the dreaded Death Star that only someone like director Lucas could dream up.
The motions and sounds emanating from the craft as it hurdles into the battle are exceptional and the entire flight feels realistic that many believe they may never return to Earth. Fortunately, for those who board the Star Tours flight, it’s all part of the fun and imagination of Disneyland.
This big thrills ride is located in Tomorrowland, and restricts riders to those who are at least 40-inches tall, even if accompanied by a responsible person. The twists and extreme turns the spaceship must take during its flight are not friendly to persons that suffer from motion sickness. For the riders’ safety, they should be free of high blood pressure, heart trouble as well as back and neck trouble. If they have any type of problem that could be aggravated by a fast motion ride, or pregnant mothers, should avoid the Star Tours ride.
