Avalon Casino

The Avalon Casino is a spectacular old building in the town of Avalon on Catalina Island. It was built in 1929 in the Art Deco style and has been used since for large, elegant parties with big bands. The ballroom can hold up to 1,400 guests. Guided tours are also available daily.

Despite the name, there is no gambling in the casino. ("Casino" is the Italian word for gathering place, which is what the name refers to in this case.) The casino also has a spectacular large movie theater with impressive sculptures outside as well as some beautiful murals inside. The casino is also a superb location for weddings.
