2 Rodeo

Alternatively known as Via Rodeo or Two Rodeo, this is the newest and most exclusive shopping area of legendary shopping district Rodeo Drive. The cobblestone via was added in the early nineties and seeks to recreate an old world shopping experience, with its macadam pavement and narrow street. Everyday hundreds of tourists and shoppers frequent the area for window browsing, dining, and photography.
Two Rodeo is considered the centerpiece of Rodeo Drive (though for a centerpiece is it actually located at the farther Wilshire-adjunct corner of the district) with several world renowned restaurants, salons, and shops. It is where the (very) upscale retailers Versace, with its white columned facade, and Tiffany and Co. keeps their shops, just to name a couple. Dining in the area includes the reasonably priced McCormick and Schmick’s Fish House and Urasawa, a Japanese sushi restaurant.
The entire street, via, and construction cost a little over $200 million to build, and the quality shows. Though it was designed to resemble the feel of a classic European outdoor shopping plaza, the finished appearance more closely resembles something you would find at Disneyland. The area is an extremely popular place for tourists on the weekends, though through the week the atmosphere is a little more laid back, populated with older locals and area businessmen seeking a light lunch during the midday. It is also a great place for celebrity watchers, as stars such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Britney Spears have been spotted shopping in the district.
