Autry Museum of Western Heritage

The Autry Museum of Western Heritage, also known as the Museum of the American West, is a museum in Griffith Park in Los Angeles devoted to history and legends of the American West. The museum was founded in 1988 by Gene Autry, famed Western actor and country crooner. A statue of him (shown above) appears in front of the museum.
The museum features much in the way of old Western artifacts as well as movie and television memorabilia devoted to the Western genre. It also features a Discovery Center for children, in which they can play inside a replica of a 19th century Mexican ranch.
