California Science Center

The California Science Center (formerly the California Museum of Science and Industry) is one of the establishments that played a vital role in shaping the history of Los Angeles. Located in Exposition Park, this museum is considered one of the major crowd-drawers in the park.
At the start, the California Science Center occupied a portion of the first State Exposition Building at Exposition Park in 1912. At that time, the museum housed simple agriculture based displays from across the state of California. Since science and technology was not yet in boom at that time, the museum only had a very limited collection. However, after World War II, technology-based products experienced such fast growth that the museum administrator saw it fit to remodel and expand the size of the old building to accommodate the additional products for display.
The museum is currently undergoing a three-phased development plan, which includes the construction of the Science Center’s main building and the setting up of the two permanent sections, namely the World of Life and Creative World. These sections feature hands-on, interactive exhibits to give the visitors a fun and educational experience. There are hundreds of hands-on activities offered at the museum. The Kinsey Hall of Health and the Aerospace Hall offers a lot of fascinating exhibits. The Technology Hall, which features an earthquake simulator, is a must-see during your visit to the museum. The Technology Hall is indeed one of the places where you can learn and experience science at its best.
