Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel

Named after President Theodore Roosevelt, this hotel opened in 1927. Many Hollywood legends stayed here, including Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable as well as writer Ernest Hemingway. In fact, Marilyn Monroe lived in the Roosevelt for two years while her modeling career took off. Some guests have claimed that the mirror which once hung in her room is haunted with her spirit or that they've seen her ghost dancing in the hotel ballroom.
In 1929, the first Academy Awards ceremony was held here as well as the banquet, which was held at the Blossom Room. The hotel was renovated in 1986.
