Little Tokyo

Little Tokyo is an expanse of four city blocks in downtown Los Angeles. It is bounded by First, Third, Los Angeles, and Alameda Streets. Over 200,000 visitors a year are drawn to its Japanese markets, shops, restaurants, and temples.
Little Tokyo is one of just three official Japantowns remaining in the United States. It is currently home to about 1,000 predominantly elderly Japanese Americans, though at its peak it had some 30,000 Japanese American inhabitants. Today the district is mainly commercial.
Little Tokyo boasts many interesting sights, including the Japanese Village Plaza, the Japanese American National Museum, and the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA.
