Los Angeles Children's Museum

los angeles children's museum

The Los Angeles Children's Museum is an inspirational hand-on museum in downtown Los Angeles. Since its opening in 1979, it has proved quite popular among families with small children. The museum contains some 20 hands-on activites in areas linked by ramps into a structure known as the "discovery maze", designed by architect Frank Gehry.

One of the museum's most popular exhibits is the Videozone, which allows children to perform a video recording. Another fun exhibit is Sticky City, which consists of velcro blocks which cling to each other as well as the floor, walls, and participants. Other popular exhibits include City Streets and the Cave of the Dinosaurs.

All children visiting the museum must be accompanied by an adult.

The museum is has been closed for renovation and relocation since 2000, with no set date for reopening.
