Mulholland Drive

Mulholland Drive is one of the best known roads in Los Angeles. It runs some 50 miles (80 km) from North Hollywood to the Malibu coast. As it winds around the Santa Monica Mountains, his route provides some spectacular views of various parts of LA, including the San Fernando Valley and some very exclusive homes. Modern artist David Hockney captured the spirit of Mulholland Drive quite well in his painting of the same name, which can be found at LACMA.
The road is named after William Mulholland, who oversaw its completion in 1924 as well as the 233-mile Los Angeles Aqueduct in 1913.
