Roxy Theater

The Roxy Theater, more commonly known simply as The Roxy, is a famous nightclub on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood.
It was founded in 1973 by Elmer Valentine and Lou Adler, who took over the building, which was formerly a strip club called the Largo. Adler brought the cult stage play The Rocky Horror Picture Show to the USA, where it played here in 1974, a year before it was released as a motion picture.
Several famous and soon-to-be-famous musical artists have performed here, including Bruce Springsteen, Nirvana, Tori Amos, the Foo Fighters, Guns 'N Roses, and David Bowie. The On The Rox bar above the nightclub was a regular hangout for several other celebrities, including John Lennon, Harry Nilsson, Keith Moon and Alice Cooper.
