Caffe Trieste

Caffe Trieste is a famous Italian cafe in the North Beach district of San Francisco. It was built in 1956 and soon became a haven for several neighborhood beat poets, including Jack Kerouac, Bob Kaufman and Gregory Corso. The cafe is still a popular hangout for writers and artists as well as neighborhood residents and tourists.
Due to its popularity, Caffe Trieste become a chain in 2003, with two more locations in San Francisco and one in Berkeley. There is also one in Sausalito, built in 1982.
