Chinese Historical Society

The Chinese Historical Society is a fine small Asian museum in Chinatown in downtown San Francisco. The main exhibition, in the museum's main gallery, tells the history of the arrival of the Chinese in the Americas, beginning in the 1600s.
This exhibit features a beautiful dragon's head at the entrance and an impressive silver pagoda model. The main gallery also features the Emily Fong YWCA Room, which tells the history of the building. The museum also features an impressive collection of temporary exhibits of Asian art.
