The Embarcadero Center is an impressive array of seven modern highrises in the Financial District of downtown San Francisco. The center consists of the following buildings:

  • One Embarcadero Center: 568 feet (173 m), 45 floors, completed 1971
  • Two Embarcadero Center: 413 feet (126 m), 30 floors, completed 1974
  • Three Embarcadero Center: 413 feet (126 m), 31 floors, completed 1977
  • Four Embarcadero Center: 571 feet (174 m), 45 floors, completed 1982
  • Embarcadero West: 404 feet (123 m), 34 floors, completed 1989
  • Le Meridien San Francisco : 25 floors, completed 1988
  • Hyatt Regeny Hotel: 20 floors, completed 1973

The first four buildings of the Embarcadero Center are lined up and connected by walkways. The first four floors of these buildings contain numerous shops and restaurants as well as a movie complex. Each building also contains a large atrium with a modern sculpture. Four Embarcadero Center has a beautiful large cloverleaf structure with a spiral walkway. The edges of the buildings are lit up at night, providing a spectacular view.

The most impressive building in the Embarcadero Center is the Hyatt Regency Hotel. The interior is completely hollow, so one can see inside from all 17 floors of hotel rooms. The lobby has a very long fountain and a large geometric sculpture known as Eclipse, designed by Charles Perry. Modern glass elevators ride along the inside of the building. The Hyatt Regency also features the Equinox, a revolving restaurant at the top, which offers diners a spectacular view of downtown as well as the San Francisco Bay. It completes a rotation every 40 minutes.
