Red Victorian Hotel

The Red Victorian Hotel, or the Red Vic as it is sometimes affectionately called, is a famous hotel and bed & breakfast in the Haight-Ashbury District in San Francisco. It was built in 1904 and was originally known as the Jefferson Hotel. During the Summer of Love in 1967, it became known as the Jeffrey-Haight. In 1977, Dr. Sami Sunchild acquired the building, painting it red and renaming it The Red Victorian.
The hotel has retained the spirit of peace, love and harmony from the 1960s. Each of the 18 guest rooms upstairs has a transcendental theme. The building also has numerous esoteric shops on the main floor, including the the Peace Center, the Peace Arts Gallery and the Gift Shop and Red Vic Peace Cafe.
