San Francisco Botanical Garden

The San Francisco Botanical Garden (formerly the Strybing Arboretum) is a beautiful expansive garden in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. The garden covers 55 acres (22.3 ha) and features some 7,500 species of plants from around the world, making it one of the largest gardens on the West Coast.
The garden is organized into several specialized collections, depending on the climate, including Mediterranean, mid-temperate, Montane tropic, and specialty collections. One section is devoted exclusively to California native plants.
The garden also features a shop which sells various seeds and horticultural books as well as housing the Crocker Horticultural Library, which is open to the public. A colorful flower show is held every summer.
