Stow Lake

Stow Lake is the largest artificial lake in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. It encircles Strawberry Hill, now an island with an artificial waterfall. It has a boathouse where tourists can rent rowboats, pedal boats, or electric powerboats. Most of the western part of San Francisco can be seen from the top of Strawberry Hill. A red and green Chinese pavilion lies on the shore of the island. This was a gift from San Francisco's sister city Taiwan, Taipei and was brought over by ship in 6000 pieces and reassembled.
