Wells Fargo History Museum

The Wells Fargo History Museum is an educational and entertaining museum in the Finanacial District of downtown San Francisco. The museum outlines the history of Wells Fargo & Co., established in 1852. The company was established as a banking and transportation company to transport people and goods from the East to the West Coast during the Gold Rush, as well as gold from the West to the East. Wells Fargo & Co. also played a role in the Pony Express, used to deliver mail.
The museum contains some beautiful old stagecoaches, which were used for transportation of gold. It also tells stories of several of the bandits who robbed them, the most famous of them being Black Bart, who left poems at the scenes of his crimes.
