Embarcadero

The famous Embarcadero in San Diego runs along the San Diego Harbor and it has numerous restaurants and fish markets. The Embarcadero is also the departure point for excursion tours of the San Diego Harbor.
The Embarcadero is a must see attraction of San Diego. It is a paved pedestrian path along the edge of San Diego Harbor and has many restaurants, boating tours, miscellaneous shops and fish markets along the way. The Embarcadero is the point from where many city harbor and dinner cruise ships take off.
At the Embarcadero, you will get to see the world’s oldest active ship, the Star of India. This ship was built in 1863 and the San Diego Maritime Museum operates the ship. The Maritime Museum is also located at the Embarcadero. The headquarters of the Museum is the ferryboat Berkeley and she rests at the San Diego waterfront. The Berkeley has workshops, offices, maritime library and a gift shop. You will be amazed with what you see and learn at the San Diego Maritime Museum.
In Embarcadero, you will find the Embarcadero Marina which is a quarter mile long boardwalk connecting the Embarcadero to Seaport Village and the Convention Center. In reality the Embarcadero Marina is an arm of land the stretches out into the San Diego Bay. The Embarcadero Marina is a popular place for concerts and other fun activities. The Marina has a lot of open spaces making it ideal for recreational activities. The walk to Seaport Village will introduce you to a number of shopping and eating opportunities not worth missing.
