Clos Pegase is located in the heart of Napa Valley and it is 2 miles (3 km) south of Calistoga and 90 minutes north of San Francisco.

The owner of Clos Pegase sponsored a competition along with San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and selected the renowned architect Michael Graves out of 96 contestants to design and build a temple to wine and art. That is how Clos Pegase came into being along with 20,000 feet (6 km) of aging caves which also houses the Cave Theater.

Clos Pegase allows public and private groups to have all kinds of celebrations and gatherings within the winery, and these can definitely be breathtaking because of winery’s architecture, setting, art collection and fantastic wines.

The Cave Theater in Clos Pegase is an underground vaulted chamber which is located in the center of the estate. It is an ideal place to have a romantic or fun-filled candle-lit dinner amidst rare artifacts and sculptures.

If the Cave Theater is not your style, you can always opt for the Harvest Dining Room with its marble fireplace, mahogany cabinets, art, crystal chandeliers and breathtaking view of the vineyards and mountains.

For alfresco lovers, Clos Pegase has the courtyard at the main entrance of the winery with its tile floors and open-air skylight. The tables are set around a sculpture by Henry Moore. There is also a lawn area behind the main entrance and you can choose to enjoy the ambience sitting between Italian cypress trees.

Clos Pegase also has a visitor center and a cask room where beverages are served amidst sculptures and art by some of the most world-renowned artists.
