Rutherford Hill Winery

rutherford hill winery

High in the eastern hills, Rutherford Hill Winery has a spectacular view of Rutherford Bench in Napa Valley. The winery was established in 1976 and was one of the first pioneers of premier wines in Napa Valley.

A tour of the Napa Valley will be incomplete without a visit to Rutherford Hill Winery. The winery is open daily for tours and wine tasting. One can also take a walk through their wine aging caves.

Rutherford Hill Winery has an extensive network of hillside cave system for aging their wines. The caves are a mile-long and contain 8,000 French and American oak barrels in which the Rutherford Hill Winery’s wines are matured in a natural and unique environment.

There are three beautiful picnic grounds in Rutherford Hill Winery. The Live Oak Grove is a spacious and shady picnic ground which commands an awe-inspiring view of the Napa Valley. This ground can seat up to 100 people. The Olive Grove is located in the midst of the winery’s 100-year old olive grove and has a gazebo and individual tables. While the Upper Grove is located just above the winery and has a spectacular view of the winery and the Napa Valley.

The best part of all is that large groups of visitors can come to Rutherford Hill Winery and have a candlelit meal in their wine aging caves. Even smaller groups can just relax and enjoy the spectacular view afforded by the winery and taste their award-winning Merlot and Merlot Reserve.

Other wines that are worth tasting in Rutherford Hill Winery are the Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, Sangiovese, Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc and Zinfandel Port.

The Rutherford Hill Winery is open daily and guided tours are conducted at 11.30 am, 1.30 pm and 3.30 pm.
