The Clear Creek History Park, situated in Golden, Colorado, offers an opportunity to travel back in time and experience the lifestyle, play activities, and work of a number of pioneers who lived in Colorado in mid-to-late 1800s. The Park also provides hands on activities that depict the lifestyle of the olden days. These activities include blacksmithing, gold panning, one-room school sessions, wool spinning, and lasso throwing. The hands-on-history site of the Park encompasses an area of over 3 acres (0.012 sq-km).
The main attractions in the Park include a school house, two authentic cabins, heirloom chickens, a blacksmith shop, and elegant gardens. Besides, the Park also houses a barn and a smoke house. The nearby Astor House Museum is yet another tourist attraction. The Clear Creek History Park also hosts several special family events throughout the year. The summer offerings include Hands-On- History Sessions and on-going children series. There are a number of other summer programs for kids, ages 6-12. In these programs, kids are taught how to make pan for gold and butter, and are made to play games, which were popular with kids in the 1800s. The Park has a lot to offer and is the best place to visit with family and kids.
