According to most of the experts, Colorado has the largest number of world-class ski towns and ski areas. Colorado Ski Resorts attract thousands of skiers from all over the world every year. These resorts offer great opportunities for skiing, snowmobiling, dog-sled riding, and many other outdoor activities. Eldora, Loveland, and Arapahoe Basin are the three main ski areas in the Front Range, which comprises of main towns, Denver and Boulder. Eldora is merely 21 miles (34 km) from Boulder and is a great place for the beginners. It features three terrain parks, a great half-pipe, and facilities for tree-skiing. The Loveland Resort, nearest to Denver, tops out at over 13,010 ft (3965 m). Arapahoe Basin offers the best spring fling skiing in Colorado. 40% of its terrain is advanced or expert, and is not suitable for the beginners.

The Grand County's Grand Ski Areas include famous resorts like Winter Park, Silver Creek, and the Berthoud Pass. Winter Park, situated 85 miles (137 km) from Denver, is the most family-friendly resort in the country. It is known to provide world-class facilities for disabled skiing. It also features ‘The Ski Train’ that takes the skiers from Amtrak and Winter Park to the base of the mountain. Silver Creek, a family specialist resort, is also suitable for beginners. The popular Berthoud Pass Resort has a number of terrain parks, two small chairs, and van shuttles. This resort is a favorite with shredders and rippers.

The Summit County is the hub of America’s world-class skiing. The Summit County's World-Class Ski Resorts include the Keystone, Copper Mountain, and Breckenridge. Breckenridge, the most popular among the three resorts, features 25 lifts, lodging facilities, terrain parks, off-snow attractions, and restaurants. The two main ski resorts in Vail include the Vail Resort and the Beaver Creek Resort. Vail encompasses 5289 acres (21.4 sq. km.) of skiiable area and has 33 lifts. The main attractions atop the Lion’s Head gondola include the Adventure Ridge, tubing hill, etc.

The beautifully-preserved Victorian ski town of Aspen is home to 4 main Ski Areas: the Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk Mountain, and the Snowmass Village. These four areas together comprise the Aspen Resort. Some of the more remote Ski Resorts in Colorado include Steamboat Springs, Telluride, and the Crested Butte. Each of these ski areas has direct flights to nearby airports. Every Colorado Ski Resort can keep you awed and entertained for a week, or for months.
