State of Connecticut is situated in northeastern USA and boasts of the highest per capita income in the entire nation. Connecticut is part of the New England region and apart from its 250 miles of coastline; the state shares its borders with Long Island Sound, New York State, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. Hartford is the capital city and New Haven, Milford, Stamford and New Britain are its other major cities. Climate is best described as moderate. However in winters northwestern parts have heavy snowfall but the coastal belt is warmer. In the central and north western parts, find some the best skiing resorts, with snowboarding also being a popular activity.
With sixty National Historic Landmarks, Connecticut has a great deal to offer. The coastal town of Mystic is a popular destination providing a dual treat of remarkable history and adventure spots. Rafting, deep-sea fishing and sailing are popular, while many visitors find the art galleries and heritage spots as amazing places to stopover. The nearby town of Groton attracts people to its submarine museum, and is arguably the best of its kind in the world.
New Haven is world famous for the prestigious Yale University. Here art lovers have a great time at admiring the beautiful paintings at the Yale University Art Gallery and visiting the Yale Center for British Art. At Hartford, an intricate Victorian mansion that served as a residence for legendary author, Mark Twain, for 17 long years is a must see. Hartford is also famous for the horseback rides and horse shows.
