Flagler MuseumFlagler Museum, situated in Palm Beach, Florida, is a magnificent, 55-room mansion listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Popularly known as Whitehall, this mansion was built in 1902 for Mary Lily Kenan by her husband, Henry Flagler. This winter residence was designed by architects Carrere and Hastings. The Henry Morrison Flagler Museum non-profit corporation, founded by Flagler’s granddaughter Jean Flagler Mathew, purchased Whitehall in 1959 and opened it as the Flagler Museum in 1960. Today, the Museum features a wide variety of changing exhibits, guided tours, and special programs. The Beaux Arts style pavilion of the Flagler Museum features the private railcar (#91) in which the couple used to travel to Palm Beach. The museum also hosts the annual bluegrass concert in the Flagler Kenan Pavilion. It is best recognized in South Florida to feature the most talented and professional artists in every musical event.
