RiverwalkRiver Walk, situated in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is a linear waterfront park that connects the historic district of Fort Lauderdale historic with the city’s cultural district, anchored by the Performing Arts Center and the Museum of Discovery and Science. The Park’s meandering promenade offers an exquisite 1-mile (1.6 km) stroll through the lush landscaping in the Riverwalk Arts & Entertainment District. This scenic walkway runs past a number of waterfront parks, shopping & dining venues, and the major cultural attractions along the historic New River in Downtown Fort Lauderdale. The Riverwalk Park links to Las Olas Boulevard at the historic Stranahan House. The major tourist attractions showcased along the River Walk include the Old Fort Lauderdale Museum of History, the Museum of Art, Florida Grand Opera; the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, the Museum of Discovery and Science, the eclectic historic Second Street, Florida Grand Opera, Las Olas Riverfront, and the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival. The walkway at the Riverwalk Park is lined with over 24,000 Signature Bricks, engraved with personalized messages. The primary activities of the Riverwalk Trust include communications, fundraising, events, membership, and advocacy on behalf of the park.
