Society of the Four Arts

The Society of the Four Arts, situated on the island of Palm Beach in Florida, is a popular non-profit cultural organization. It was established in 1936 by a group of famous Palm Beach residents to cater the needs of the ever-growing resort community. The ‘four arts’ that constitute the mission of this society include drama, music, art, and literature. The Society of the Four Arts features a number of educational programs, films, concerts, notable speakers, and art exhibitions each year, from November through April.

The Four Arts campus, situated along the Intracoastal Waterway, is home to two libraries, beautiful gardens, an administration building, and a gallery building. The Esther B. O’Keeffe Gallery Building houses an art gallery, featuring impressive art exhibitions throughout the season, and a 750-seat Walter S. Gubelmann auditorium, featuring concerts, lectures, and films. The ‘Giaconda and Joseph King Library’ holds more than 65,000 periodicals, books, DVDs, and CDs. It also noted authors every year, as part of its famous Florida Voices series.

The John E. Rovensky Administration Building, on the other hand, houses The Children’s Library, staff offices, and Campus on the Lake Workshops. The Four Arts Children’s Library features several art exhibitions in the Mary Alice Fortin Children’s Art Gallery. The Four Arts Campus is also home to the Philip Hulitar Sculpture Garden and the spectacular Four Arts Botanical Gardens. The Society of the Four Arts is a ‘must-see’ for all those who visit Palm Beach in Florida.
