The BreakersThe Breakers, situated 7 miles (11 km) from Palm Beach International Airport on the island of Palm Beach, Florida, is one of the America’s legendary resort destinations. This luxury resort encompasses over 140 acres (57 hectares) of breathtaking oceanfront property and has been distinguished with the AAA Five Diamond Award. It has also been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The 1040 ft (316.9 m) front drive of the resort leads to the Florentine Fountain, designed after the fountain at the Boboli Gardens in Florence. The main facilities offered at the resort include an extensive program of family and children’s activities; a variety of water sports; 10 tennis courts; 5 swimming pools; a 20,000-square-foot () luxury spa with ocean view fitness center; 2 18-hole championship golf courses; an excellent selection of 8 restaurants and world-class boutiques; and a Mediterranean-style beach club overlooking one-half mile of private beach. The major restaurants at the resort include The Circle, L’Escalier, The Beach Club, the Flagler Steakhouse, the Seafood Bar, the Italian Restaurant, Echo, the Ocean Grill, and the Tapestry Bar. The Family entertainment Center at the Breakers is a 6,160 square foot (572.2 sq. m.) multiplex, featuring a number of facilities, such as the Arcade, the Toddler’s playroom, the Arts and Crafts area, a video game room, and a Children’s Movie Theater. The Breakers houses 550 guest rooms, 2 Imperial suites, 4 Royal Poinciana Suites, and 52 other luxury suites. Laundry, concierge services, safe deposit boxes, valet parking and transportation, babysitting, complimentary shuttle service, and a “24/7 Business Center” are the various guest services offered to the travelers. The Flagler Club is a private residence that offers restricted access rooms and excellent concierge services.
