Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park

Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, situated in Key Biscayne, Florida, occupies the southern third of the island. It is home to the 8th best beach in the country and also to Cape Florida Light, the oldest standing structure in the Miami-Dade County. The Park has been named after Bill Braggs, the editor of The Miami News. Braggs was the one who fought to prevent the development of the land included in the park.

The main recreational activities at the sandy Atlantic beachfront of the Park include swimming, snorkeling, boating, canoeing, fishing from the seawall along Biscayne Bay, kayaking, bicycling; wildlife viewing, and hiking. The main facilities at the Bill Braggs Cape Florida State Park include picnicking areas; campsites for youth camping; a museum with concessions and interpretive exhibits; and a visitor center. Overnight boat camping is made available in the No Name Harbor. Bicycles, umbrellas, and beach chairs are also made available on request. The Boater’s Grill features casual waterfront dining and picnicking facilities.
