Busch Gardens

busch gardens

The name ‘Busch Gardens’ refers to two popular amusement parks in the United States; one is in Williamsburg, Virginia and the other is in Tampa, Florida. At present, these amusement parks are owned and operated by Busch Entertainment Corporation, a division of Anheuser-Busch. The gardens have now been renamed to reflect the theme used throughout the parks. Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, popularly known as Busch Gardens Africa, was established on March 31, 1959.

Formerly tagged as the “Dark Continent”, this amusement park in Tampa is based on the African theme. It is home to over 2,700 animals and is considered to be one of the largest zoological institutions in America. The most popular attraction in the park is the ‘SheiKra’, a vertical dive coaster that was inaugurated in 2005. Other main attractions in the park include Montu, Gwazi, Kumba, Scorpion, the Rhino Rally, and Edge of Africa. This theme park is located in extreme northern Tampa, just a small distance away from downtown. It borders the town limits of Temple Terrace and is easily accessible.
