The Museum of Fine Arts, situated in St. Petersburg, Florida, was established in 1965 by Margaret Acheson Stuart. It aims at offering excellent examples of world art in an alluring, graceful setting in order to promote the knowledge and appreciation of art. The Museum also strives to offer instructions and opportunities for aesthetic enjoyment of art; provide ample facilities for research; and preserve and safeguard the rare works of art and other objects of artistic interest.
The Museum building is best known for its magnificent architecture, elegant gardens, and carpeted exhibition galleries. The galleries are designed for leisurely reflection and feature some of the most outstanding works of art. The Museum of Fine Arts has a comprehensive art collection, which ranges from antiquity to the present, on the Florida west coast. This museum is certainly worth a visit and is a ‘must-see” for all the art aficionados.
