Ybor City, situated just northeast of downtown Tampa, Florida, is popularly known as the city’s Latin Quarter. This historic neighborhood was established in 1885 by a group of cigar manufacturers led by Vincente Martinez Ybor. This city is best known for its active labor organizations and mutual aid societies. The areas around the old Ybor City business district emerged as a major entertainment district in the late 1980s.

Today, the old neighborhood of Ybor City is a major tourist destination in Florida and has been declared a National Historic Landmark District. The City is home to a number of buildings that have been listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Some of the well-frequented museums in the city include the Cigar Museum and Visitor Center, Ybor City Museum State Park, and the TECO Line Streetcar Museum. The city also hosts several annual cultural events, such as the Tampa Cigar Heritage Festival, the Rough Rider’s St. Patrick’s Night Parade, Guavaween, and the Gasparilla Sant’Yago Night Parade.

Best known for its nightlife, Ybor City is also home to the hottest college bars, martini bars, techno dance clubs, outdoor patio bars, happy hour bars, live music jazz bars, and entertainment venues. Besides, the city also features a number of restaurants that are popular for lunch and late night dining. Ybor City is rich in history and culture and has a lot to offer to residents and tourists alike. It is definitely a place worth a visit in Tampa.
