Miami

Miami, the largest city within South Florida and the county seat of the Miami-Dade County, has been designated a gamma world city, owing to its significance as an international financial and cultural center. Miami is also sometimes referred to as the “Gateway of the Americas” due to its linguistic and cultural ties to the Caribbean, as well as to the North, South, and Central America. The Port of Miami, popularly known as the “Cruise Capital of the World”, accommodates the largest cruise ships and has maintained its status as the world’s number one cruise/passenger port.

Miami is a major tourist destination in Florida. It is home to a number of theaters, performing arts center, museums, and entertainment venues. Some of the main points of tourist interest in the city include the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, the second-largest performing arts center in the United States; the Guzman Center for the Performing Arts; the Coconut Grove Playhouse; and the Bayfront Park Amphitheater for outdoor music events. Downtown Miami is home to a number of museums and art galleries, including Historical Museum of Southern Florida, the Frost Art Museum, Miami Children's Museum, Miami Science Museum, Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, Miami-Dade Cultural Center, and the Miami Art Museum.

Other major tourist attractions in Miami include the Jungle Island, the Miami Seaquarium, the Bayfront Park, the Bayside Marketplace, and the Bicentennial Park. Miami, along with the neighboring Miami Beach, is also home to several famous spas, restaurants, beach resorts, bars, and nightclubs. Miami, the Magic City, has a lot to offer to people of all ages and is not worth missing.
