Venetian PoolThe Venetian Pool, situated in Coral Gables, Florida, is a U.S. public pool built from an ancient coral rock quarry. This 820,000-gallon pool is constantly fed by fresh water from the Biscayne Aquifer and is maintained at 76-78 degrees. It is best known for its lush landscape, featuring climbing allemande vines, stands of bamboo, huge ficus trees, birds of paradise, royal coconut palms, a white sand beach, and a pair of coral caves and cascades. It is the largest freshwater pool in the United States and has also been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Designed by architect Phineas Paist and artist Denman Fink in 1924, Venetian Pool brings to life the feel of old Venice; its themed architecture is a fantasized version of a waterfront Italian village. This pool is considered to be a perfect place for swimming, receptions, weddings, banquets, and weddings. It is surrounded by a number of offices, towers, historical exhibits’ space, a meeting room, and an elegant café. The pool depth ranges from 4 to 8 feet (1.2 to 2.4 m) near the grand waterfall. It also features a two-foot (0.6-m) deep kiddy pool near the lifeguard station. A snack bar, showers, and lockers are also made available to the visitors. The Venetian Pool is an exclusive Coral Gables treasure and its charm and grandeur is sure to enchant the visitors.
