Destin, situated on the Emerald Coast of Florida, is best known for its emerald-green waters and sugar-white beaches. Located on a peninsula that separates the Gulf of Mexico from Choctawhatchee Bay, the City of Destin is home to the largest fishing vessel fleet in Florida and is considered to be the ‘World’s Luckiest Fishing Village”. Over the years, Destin has emerged as the most popular tourist destination on the Emerald Coast, attracting nearly 4.5 million visitors every year.
Destin is located in close proximity to several other cities in the region, including the city of Fort Walton Beach to the west, Niceville to the north, Panama City to the east, and the city of Pensacola to the west. The City of Destin features nearly 12 beach access points in the city, the most popular access point being the Henderson Beach State Recreation Area. The sand on the beaches in Destin is considered to be the whitest in the world. The most popular beach activity in Destin is fishing. Fishing vessels can be chartered at the harbor.
In addition to the beaches, Destin also features a number of man-made attractions. The main points of tourist interest in the city include the Big Kahuna’s Water Park, a popular adventure park; Destin Commons, an open-air shopping mall; a Hard Rock Café; a 14-screen Rave Motion Pictures cinema; and the Silver Sands Outlet Mall, the largest designer outlet center in the nation. Destin also have an assortment of hotels and motels, in addition to the high-rise condominiums. Visitors also have a choice of renting private homes in Destin. Destin is a perfect holiday destination for all ages and is certainly not to be missed in Florida panhandle area.
