Florida panhandle, the loneliest region of the State of Florida, features the state’s most pristine and beautiful beaches. The Panhandle beaches are well-known for their emerald-green waters and sugar-white sands, and are branded as the ‘Emerald Coast’. Snowbirds, which hail from Midwest and Canada, abound throughout panhandle in the winter months. Dog Island, constituting the eastern panhandle island, is owned and managed by the Nature Conservancy. It features some of the most immaculate panhandle beaches, which are best known for their powdered-sugar sand, aquamarine waters, and shells galore.
The main beaches and communities in Florida Panhandle include the Pensacola area, Navarre Beach, Fort Walton Beach, Destin, Panama City Beach, Port St. Joe, and Apalachicola. The Pensacola area is home to the Perdido Key State Recreation Area, Johnson Beach, and the Big Lagoon State Recreation Area. The various beaches included in the Big Lagoon State Recreation Area include the Langdon Beach, the Unnamed Beach, the Quietwater Beach, Casino Beach, and the Santa Rosa Recreational facility. The Pensacola area and its beaches offer a variety of recreational activities, including swimming, canoeing, hiking, kayaking, biking, and camping.
The most-frequented places of tourist interest in the Navarre Beach area include the Shoreline Park and the Liza Jackson Park. Fort Walton Beach, on the other hand, features the Ross Marler Park, Okaloosa Area, Okaloosa Island Pier, and the John C. Beasley Park. The major tourist attraction in Destin is the Silver Beach Wayside Park. Grayton Beach State Recreational Area is yet another attraction nearby. This funky little beach is home to the infamous Red Bar and the Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. This state park features a number of pristine, secluded beaches and spectacular maritime lakes. The Blue Mountain Beach, situated near South Fort Walton Beach, is a residential community featuring a number of private beach homes available for rent.
The Panama City Beach is home to the Panama City Beach & Pier, the Bay County Pier and Park, and the St. Andrews State Recreation Area. The main attractions at Port St. Joe include Cape San Blas, the Indian Pass Beach, and the T. H. Stone Memorial. Cape San Blas is home to the nation’s most sublime beaches. It is home to the spectacular St. Joseph Peninsula State Park. This park is a bird-watchers’ paradise and is well-known for its beach activities. The main beaches in the Apalachicola area include the Carrabelle Beach, Dr. Julian G. Bruce Beach, and the St. George Island’s public access beaches. Panhandle beaches are counted among the best beaches in America. They are a serene retreat from the hubbub of city life and are certainly not to be missed.
