The
Aviary is a popular attraction at Discovery Cove in Orlando, Florida. This 12,000 sq. ft. (1100 sq. m.) birdhouse is home to a number of toucans, parrots, and other exotic bird species. The small-bird sanctuary at the Aviary features a number of darting hummingbirds, honey creepers, and tiny finches. The large-bird sanctuary, on the other hand, is home to red-legged seriems, wandering toucans, and other large colorful birds.
The attendants move around the aviary with carts filled with free fruit and birdfeed, which can be used to attract the birds. These beautiful birds are absolutely harmless and one shouldn’t get scared if a bird leaps onto the shoulder. The birdhouse can be reached either by walking in from the beach or by swimming into it from the river that meanders through the park. Aviary is a ‘must-see’ for all the bird lovers who visit the Discovery Cove.
