Dolphin Lagoon is the top attraction at Discovery Cove in Orlando, Florida. It allows the guests to interact and swim with dolphins. The ‘swim’ with the dolphins is regularly supervised and is restricted to safe limits. This attraction also offers a unique opportunity to touch, feed, play, and even kiss a bottlenose dolphin! Dolphin Lagoon is the best place to interact with the most social and communicative marine animals.
Guests have to go through a somewhat mind-numbing, 15-minute orientation with the rest of the group. This orientation program features an off-topic film about the companies and their animals, as well as a few words from a dolphin trainer. After the orientation, guests are allowed to step into the icy water of the lagoon for a 25 minute interaction with one of the 25 dolphins. As a floatation vest is made available to all, small children and non-swimmers are also invited to take part. Guests are taught about the dolphin behavior in detail by the Discovery Cove trainers. Towards the end of the session, guests can take a chance to swim in deeper waters and pose for pictures with dolphins. Dolphin Lagoon offers lot of fun and is a ‘must-see’ for those who visit Discovery Cove.
