‘Key West at Sea World’, the most popular section of SeaWorld Orlando, is situated near the main entrance of the theme park. It has been wonderfully designed to mimic the City of Key West, Florida and is dedicated to the much celebrated charisma and animals of the Florida Keys. It helps the guests to experience the unperturbed setting of the Southernmost City of Continental USA. ‘Key West at SeaWorld’ is a lush tropical paradise encompassing nearly 5 acres (0.02 sq-km) of land, featuring sea turtles, manatees, alligators, as well as shark and dolphin habitats.
The major animal exhibits in this area include the Dolphin Cove, the Stingray Lagoon, and the Turtle Point. The Dolphin Cove is home to a tropical lagoon with rolling waves, where visitors can actually feel and touch dolphins; a serene, sandy beach; and an underwater viewing area. The Dolphin Nursery, situated just next to the Dolphin Cove, is home to numerous new-born dolphins that were raised within the park. Visitors are also invited to feed the vicious stingrays at the Stingray Lagoon. The Turtle Point, on the other hand, offers a unique opportunity to have a close-up look at the endangered sea turtles, such as the loggerheads.
‘Key West at SeaWorld’ is the only place in the park where one can enjoy all the wildlife that inhabits the flamingo habitat. Situated to the right of the flamingo habitat is an old Mediterranean village, the major attraction of which is the Sea Fire Inn. The various shops at this village offer fine china and hand sculpted glassware bearing the Sea World emblem. In addition to the animal exhibits, ‘Key West at SeaWorld’ also features a number of other specialty shops, live bands, and eclectic eating joints. It also offers certain areas that are specially designed for smoking. The area also plays host to the nightly Sunset Celebration, which is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city of Key West. Key West at SeaWorld is the most-frequented area within the park and is certainly worth a visit.
