Kraken, one of the most popular rides in SeaWorld, is the fastest, highest, longest, and the only floorless roller coaster in the Southeast. Its design is based on the theme of a gigantic, mythological underwater beast ‘kraken’ set free from the depths of the sea. This spine-tingling roller coaster is first of its kind and rides on a pedestal above the track at speeds of nearly 65 mph. When the riders are loaded in the train, the floor drops down and disappears completely leaving the riders’ feet appallingly close to the chain lift, tracks, and the brakes. The feet of the riders dangle in air as they travel in open-sided seats to heights of over 151 feet (46 m). These pedestal-like seats have nothing around them, except the shoulder restraints. The front seat is absolutely stunning as there is nothing in front of it but track and air!
The coaster runs through numerous waterfalls and tunnels, plunges underwater, and turns the riders upside down nearly seven times! Kraken is undoubtedly the best roller coaster in Central Florida. Kraken takes the guests on a macabre ride of their lives, lift them higher, drop them longer, and spiral them faster than any other ride in the city of Orlando. Kraken is the smoothest and quietest roller coaster in Orlando and is truly worthwhile.
