SeaWorldSeaWorld Orlando, situated in Orlando, Florida, is the most-frequented and the biggest of the three Sea World Parks owned and operated throughout the United States by the Busch Entertainment Corporation, a subsidiary of Anheuser Busch. The other two Sea World parks are located in San Diego and San Antonio. Sea World Orlando opened to the public on December 15, 1973. Today, this theme park, together with the nearby Discovery Cove and the Aquatica Water Park, forms a stupendous entertainment complex dedicated to Earth’s oceans and the wide variety of marine life that inhabits them. SeaWorld Orlando features a number of distinct areas, including Key West at Sea World, Shamus Happy Harbor, the Waterfront at Sea World, and Clydesdale Hamlet. Key West at Sea World has been wonderfully designed to appear just like the city of Key West, Florida. The major exhibits in this section of the park include sea turtles, manatees, alligators, as well as shark and dolphin habitats. Shamus Happy Harbor, on the other hand, is a play area for children hosted by the park’s killer whale mascot, Shamu. The Waterfront, the recent most addition to the park, mimics a seaside Mediterranean Village, featuring the park’s iconic Sky Tower Ride, shops, and elegant restaurants. Clydesdale Hamlet, the signature component of the Sea World Parks, is home to the stables of the popular Budweiser Clydesdales as well as a Hospitality House. The most popular rides at the park include Kraken, a floorless roller coaster; and Journey to Atlantis, an exciting boat ride based on the theme of the mythical Atlantis. The major animal exhibits in the Park include the Penguin Encounter, an indoor exhibit featuring puffins and murres; the Shark Encounter, featuring the Sharks Underwater Grill and a wide variety of sting rays, sharks, and venomous fish; and the Pacific Point Preserve, home to a number of seals and sea lions. Sea World Orlando also offers a number of combined attractions, such as the Wild Arctic. Besides, the theme park also features a number of guided tours; the 6-hours Adventure Express Tour is the most popular tour in the park. Sea World Orlando is also well known for its live shows, many of which feature trained animals. Some of the main performances hosted by the park throughout the year include ‘Believe’ and ‘Shamu Rocks’ featured at the Shamu Stadium; Blue Horizons at the Whale and Dolphin Theater; Clyde and Sea-more Take Pirate Island at the Sea Lion and Otter Stadium; Elmo and the Bookaneers at the Bayside Stadium; Odyssea at the Nautilus Theater; and Pets Ahoy at Seaport Theater. The center lake at the Park hosts a wonderful show, featuring 100-foot (30-m) fountains, flames on water, fireworks, and gigantic marine creatures on 60-foot (18-m) mist screens. Mystify, a vibrant underwater adventure, is yet another attraction at the park. Situated at the intersection of Interstate 4 and the Beach Line Expressway, just 10 minutes south of downtown Orlando, Sea World is easily accessible. It has a lot to offer to people of all ages and is a ‘must-see’ for all those who visit Orlando, particularly with kids.
