The Cat in the Hat is one of the most exciting adventure rides at the Islands of Adventure theme park in the Universal Orlando Resort. This ride was built in Seuss Landing in 1999. Seuss Landing is the only place in Orlando that brings to life the capricious children’s tales of Dr. Seuss. Cat in the Hat is a real treat for all the senses.
The attraction is actually based upon a famous children’s book and its story is featured with some computer generated graphics, outstanding animatronics, and cars, which spin round and round. The riders spin and swerve as the mischievous cat and his friends, Thing One and Thing Two, almost topple the home. It is strongly advised not to have food just before the ride. This ride is suitable for adults, teens, pre-teens, and children, but is not meant for very young children who may get frightened by some spinning during the ride. There is absolutely no height restriction for this ride, but children are allowed only if they are accompanied by adults.
The ‘Cat in the Hat’ realistically reconstructs the authentic, seminal “Cat” story. The ride features bright blue and orange ‘six-passenger’ couches and takes the guests into the crazy, wonderful world of their beloved Seussian characters. The intelligent use of lighting, animatronics, wild effects, and other techniques make this ride superlatively silly with the right dart of ludicrousness. The Cat in the Hat is truly worth it, but those prone to dizziness or motion sickness should think twice before boarding the ride.
