The Discovery Center, a replica of the Visitor Center from the film ‘Jurassic Park’, features a number of hands-on-exhibits, including the hatching Velociraptor eggs, a trivia game show, and other educational and interactive exhibits. These exhibits are specially designed for young children. The Discovery Center is split into two major areas; one area features a fast-paced, three-player trivia game entitled “You Bet Jurassic”, whereas the other area offers guests a unique opportunity to look through a view finder to see how a dinosaur would see. The trivia game has 5 versions, each having 4 main rounds that take nearly 5 minutes to play.
The top floor of the Discovery Center houses the DinoStore, an elegant gift shop, and “The Burger Digs”, a fast food restaurant. A large spiral staircase, similar to the one seen in the film, can be seen winding past two hanging dinosaur skeletons, which were actually used as props in the film. The lower floor, on the other hand, offers visitors a number of exciting, interactive experiences.
The ‘hatchery’ is located against the back wall of the lower level of the Discovery Center. This hatchery houses a huge bank of computers for examining dinosaur eggs. The guests are given a chance to analyze an egg and find out what kind of dinosaur is inside it! The visitors can also see a number of dinosaur eggs being rotated in the center of the back wall. The Jurassic Park Discovery Center is a great place to visit, especially with kids, and is truly worth it!
