‘Jaws’, an amusement park attraction located at Universal Studios Florida in Orlando, is themed after the movie with the same name. This attraction is nothing but an extended version of a popular scene on the long-running backlot tour at Universal Studios Hollywood. The ride begins as a leisurely tour of the Amity Harbor, and later turns into a tormenting pursuit between a determined great white shark and your craft. The Jaws attraction was closed to the public twice in the past for necessary renovations. It will be closed again in 2008 for more renovations.
As Jaws is one of the most popular rides in the amusement park, it always has a long wait. The guests are advised to bide their time watching Amity TV on WJWS, a station that is complete with commercials for candied blowfish and recreational vehicles. The special effects on this ride, especially the fire and electrical explosions, make this 7-minute ride very exciting. Those who want an even more terrifying experience can choose to go for this ride after the dark. The Jaws ride is suitable for all but young children and pregnant women, and is certainly not to be missed at any cost.
