The Flying Unicorn, one of the more popular rides at the Universal Islands of Adventure theme park, Florida, is located in the Lost Continent Island. This exciting ride is a retreat from the more extreme rides of the area and is very popular with young children. The minimum height requirement for this ride is just 36 inches (91 cm). The Flying Unicorn and the Dueling Dragons will be turned into Harry Potter theme rides in the year 2009, and will be made a part of the upcoming island, The Wizard World of Harry Potter.
The Flying Unicorn ride comes to pass in an enchanted forest from a Fairy Tale. Various signs along the queue depict the fascinating story of a wizard who found a horn of a baby unicorn and then used it to creating this ride. The cars of the ride are designed to mimic mechanical unicorns. These cars run over a track to the top of the lift and then, drop through a number of dips and turns, and around the Merlin’s forest before being deposited back at the starting point. The ride is specially designed for young guests and usually lasts for a minute.
