Toon Lagoon Beach Bash

Toon Lagoon, situated at the Islands of Adventure theme park in Orlando, Florida, is undoubtedly the most creative area of the park. It is themed after the characters of King Features Syndicate and Jay Ward and is a favorite with both adults and children. Toon Lagoon emphasizes more on water-based rides. It is also home to three major counter-service restaurants: Comic Strip Café, Blondie’s, and Wimpey’s & All on Mulberry Street.

The main rides and attraction at Toon Lagoon include ‘Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls’, ‘Me Ship, The Olive’, and ‘Popeye and Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges’. Dudley-Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls is considered to be one of the steepest long flume rides in America. Built in 1999, this flume ride is themed after the old cartoon ‘Dudley-Do-Right’. During the Queue to this ride, the guests amble through Snidley’s Wiplash’s Hideout and a theater room.

‘Popeye and Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges’, on the other hand, is a river rafting ride. In this ride, the guests go down a river in large circular rafts, being splashed by waterfall, rapids, and other water hazards. All the riders are sure to get soaked to the bone in this ride. ‘Me Ship, the Olive’, is an interactive children’s playground area built in and around Popeye’s ship. Here, children are given a chance to spurt water cannons at the riders of the adjacent Bilge-Rat Raft ride.
