The name ‘Universal City Walk’ refers to the entertainment and retail districts situated next to the theme parks of Universal Parks & Resorts. In other words, City Walk serves as the entrance plaza from the parking place to the theme park. City Walk can be found at Universal Studios Hollywood, Universal Orlando Resort, as well as at Universal Studios Japan. Unlike CityWalk Hollywood that incorporates a classic-modern blend of Hollywood, CityWalk Orlando is exclusively modern in its appearance.
The Universal City Walk in Orlando is considered to be the hottest spot for dining and entertainment in the city. This 30-acre (12-hectare) entertainment complex offers everything from romantic fun for couples and a night of family fun to an ideal place to hang out with friends. Universal CityWalk Orlando offers the best of the best in live music, dancing, casual & fine dining, shopping, movies, and much more. It was inaugurated in the year 1999 as an integral part of the expansion that transformed Universal Studios Florida to the present-day Universal Orlando Resort.
The most popular restaurants that offer a delightfully diverse cuisine in the Universal CityWalk section include Jimmy Buffet’s Margarita Ville, the Hard Rock Café Orlando, Emeril’s Restaurant Orlando, Latin Quarter, NBA City, Pat O’Brien’s Bar, NASCAR Sports Grille, Cinnabon, Starbucks, and TCBY. The main entertainment venues in the area include City Walk’s Rising Star, The Groove, Universal Cineplex 20, Hard Rock Live, Red Coconut Club, and the Sharp Aquos Theater featuring the popular Blue Man Group. Universal CityWalk also offers great shopping opportunities. The most-frequented stores in the area include the Tommy Bahama, the Endangered Species Store, the Hart & Huntington Tattoo Company, the Universal Studios Store, the Quiet Flight Surf Shop, Fossil Inc, and the Cigarz at CityWalk. Universal CityWalk is undoubtedly the most happening place in Orlando and is certainly not to be missed!
