Fireworks at Disneyworld are an absolute treat to our eyes and senses. Presented every night from over 35 locations across Epcot’s World Showcase region, this dazzling and spectacular show that combines surging fountains, vibrant fireworks and a musical score has everyone asking for more. Named as “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth”, the show was launched in 1999 with the name “IllumiNations 2000: Reflections of Earth”. So enormous was the response to this event that Disney continued the show even after its millennium celebrations.
‘IllumiNations’ is 13 minutes of pure ecstasy where laser beams shooting out a kaleidoscope of colors in combination with innumerable special lighting devices, gigantic fountains surging to the skies and an inferno barge with about 40 nozzles spitting flames into the air make it unforgettable.
Pre-show includes a 30 minute musical extravaganza around the lagoon. With about nine songs played until the show begins, the music sets the platform for a memorable night out.
‘IllumiNations’ is based on the theme of creation of Planet Earth and is divided into three acts called Chaos, Order and Celebration. Chaos depicts the creation of the Earth in the cosmos and this act uses the Inferno Barge. Order follows where the Earth takes the shape of a Globe and images of continents and countries appear. Lastly it is time for Celebration as the scene now explodes with fireworks and depicts pictorial images of diverse nationalities united as mankind.
Each show of IllumiNations’ costs a whopping $17,000 and the event is presently sponsored by Sylvania.
